WHAT
TECHNIQUES ARE YOU USING?
I worked mostly with a medium format camera doing the printing myself in a colour darkroom, re-arranging the moods the way I wanted. Unfortunately, as I will lose the opportunity to use the darkroom later this year, I started to use a digital camera more and more during my sessions...
DO
YOU RE-ARRANGE YOUR IMAGES DIGITALLY?
Apart from the picture used for my bio section page, I usually prefer working the traditional way for what I'm doing with the medium format camera. Of course everything produced with the digital camera need to be arranged but I usually do the same kind of corrections that I was doing in the darkroom (but pimples on the face or wrinkles on a dress could be removed now).
CAN
I PUT SOME OF YOUR PICTURES ON MY WEBSITE?
Due
to the amount of requests received every month, I can't give permission
anymore for using my pictures in other websites since I have to
ask permission from the concerned models. It became way too time consuming
to try to reach everyone.
CAN
WE DO AN EXCHANGE OF LINKS?
Sorry, no.
Feel free to put up a link to my web site if you want but I prefer to chose
the web sites that I will put in my links section myself, for my own reasons.
DO
YOU HAVE A BOOK PUBLISHED?
Not
yet, but I have had pictures published in various magazines such as
Meltdown (U.K.), Tomb Raver (U.K.), Kaleidoscope (U.K.), Présence
(Canada) as well as in some fanzines like Erebus (Canada), Spooky
Winnipeg (Canada), and In Cauda Venenum (Canada). The most recent
pictures published were in Astan
magazine (issue 18), Renaissance
magazine (issue 35) and Gotheart
magazine (issue 2). You
can purchase a copy directly from the magazines websites.
I
also have a few pictures published in the new Mick Mercer's book,
"21st Century Goth" including the cover, published by Reynolds
& Hearn and did the cover of "The house in New Orleans"
written by Fleur Reynolds, published by Virgin
Books.
WHERE
DO YOUR MODELS FIND THEIR CLOTHES?
Some
of my models made their own creations while others bought them in
gothic or fetish shops.
WHERE
DO YOU FIND YOUR MODELS?
In
gothic clubs or simply on the streets.
CAN
I BE YOUR MODEL?
Unless
it is a paid contract, I always chose my models myself... If you
live in the Montreal area or wish to travel there for a photo shoot,
you can write me and I'll let you know my fees for a session.
DO
YOU UPDATE YOUR WEBSITE OFTEN?
I
only do a few changes a year. This is my online portfolio, so I only
do updates when I have enough new material to put there.
WHY
"DARK FAIRIES"?
For
me, every of my models are "dark fairies" since most of them are from
the gothic underground scene. So, even if they have no wings,
they are "dark fairies"...
HOW
MUCH DOES IT COST IF I WANT TO BUY A PICTURE?
Depending
on whether the picture is printed as a limited edition or not, the
price ranges from $120 to $200 U.S. for an 11x14 inch picture printed
on a 16x20 inch Fuji Archive paper. Keep in mind that after May 2008 I won't be able to offer this service anymore for pictures from film that never been already printed in the last years as the darkroom I'm renting will close.
IN
WHICH PART OF THE COUNTRY YOU LIVE?
I
live in Montreal (Canada).
